I'll call this, dirty shoulder. wondering if this is caused by foreign matter on the plate during printing?  |

Is it plated? Plate 5L had pitting from rust, and these rusted areas caused consistent spots of ink on some positions where there should be no ink. |

That's impressive. As you can tell, I've just put a toe in the water. My intent is to be swimming in the deep end someday. The previous owner of this collection, deserves that I at least try. Do you know if Steven Ruecker is still active with his site? http://www.stamps4collectors.com/ I would love to offer pics of my stamps that would fill holes in his plating photos. The 47R6 for example. |
