Hi family,

I am in need of recommendations for some Expertization services. I am looking for an expert in Washington-Franklins. I am aware of PSAG and PSE. I am looking to have the stamp sent direct from the ebay seller to the expert. I am looking to see if the stamp genuine and whether it been altered? Also looking for the most reasonable price. Also, is Bill Weiss still doing this?

Any recommendations?

Thanks,
Jack Kelley

Jack, just fyi, as an ebay seller I will not ship won items to third parties. I ship only to the Paypal verified addresses of the folks who buy and pay for my stamps.

Jack, based on the criteria you set forth, I second the recommendation for APS.

I've heard that APEX can be fairly slow, Jack mentioned that this is for a ebay purchase. Will APS get the cert back to him quick enough to avoid issues with the buyer? (note that APEX site mentions 90 days.)

I would recommend the Philadelphia or NYC Philatelic Foundation, Jack.NYC P.F. definitely evaluate stamps. I would suggest if you have tme, to look at their excellent website.
If you are a distance away, I would suggest to call them. They might be able to recommend an expert or provide a listing of experts names that have reputable, qualified, work experience in your own area so be able to contact to do a proper assessment and write up.

Best wishes,

Blazenstar

You could attend the World Stamp Show next May, in NYC. During your stay, stop at the Philatelic Foundation.

APEX certifies the world and some of the various experts are slower than others. The Washington-Franklin experts are fairly quick.
