Hi, this site seems to be a fun and informative place to spend some time ... but enough about you.
I started collecting US unused stamps in my late teens. Never spent over $350 for a stamp, but after all those years (I'm 85), the accumulative catalog value was impressive.
After a bit of soul-searching, I decided to save my clueless heirs a big hassle, and to try to sell my collection ... piecemeal.
In truth, I'm not the kind of collector who enjoyed leafing thru my albums and savoring the beauty and love that went into the stamps. My joy came in filling those empty spaces, and I was over-joyed when I completed a set.
Now my joy comes in staring at the black empty piece of plastic where a stamp used to live. Sad.
Managed to sell two COMPLETE albums of 1921 thru 1999 stamps in one lot. Also, my Airmail stamps (C1-C146) went in one lot.
Of the remaining 380 pre-1920 stamps, I've been able to sell 46 stamps on
ebay, representing about 40% of the dealer catalog value. I now have 63 stamps and 6 sets offered ... user name carlberky10.
