While adding the back scan of a stamp I wanted to list, I found a grill ... where no grill should be. Could my Scott #190 be a #143?

I sent it off to the late Bill Weiss ... but the news was not good. It was a four letter F word. Here's the back scan of the #190, which is offered at my ebay store (with a #143 disclaimer).

I had a #519 for sale at the store, when I received an Email from Bill telling me that it was a fake. I removed the listing, and added it to the "fake" column in my spreadsheet.

Much later, after extensive changes and additions to the spreadsheet, disaster struck. I hit the "column delete" option instead of the "row delete", and lost several columns. After hours of restoration, I realized that I just couldn't remember the Scott #s in the "fake column. I'll play my "85 years old" card here.

I listed the stamp again as a #519 and Studebaker51 was good enough to remind me of the error. Here the fake #519 image:

A quick tip for whenever you want to undo something in Windows, try CTRL-z. It works most of the time :)

Most spreadsheets have an 'Undo' features which allow you do undo an action you just did. Sometimes its under edit and sometimes its an icon of a curvy arrow.

Now you tell me! lol
Does the undo restore the previous action or the entire session?
I must admit, I hit the panic button!

There's a 'Redo' feature if you accidentally Undo something by mistake.

Checked my spreadsheet edits and the first entry was "undo"!

I can't even claim computer illiteracy. Bought my first computer in 1979 ... a RadioShack Tandy Model 1. After upgrades and $2000 (in 1979 bucks!) I could boast of having ... 48K memory!

Wow. Do you still have that computer? I've seen the TRS-80 Model IV, but never a model 1.

Sorry, it's buried in some garbage dump, tossed away long, long before EPA rules about it's disposal.

I taught myself Basic Programming and my first project was designing a Tic Tac Toe game. When finished, days later, I proudly showed it my wife Ruth and daughter Stephanie.

Stef played it once or twice and quit, saying that it would not let her win. Ruth said, "Why bother?".

The game was never played again.

I still have 2 or 3 Kaypro's in the basement. 1982 doesn't seem that long ago to me!

Instead of keeping the fake why not donate to the APS fake collection?

Glen, the fake #143 has enough real value as a #190, but how would I go about donating the fake #519?

I found, "For information on donating to the APS Reference Collection, contact Mercer Bristow by phone at 814 933-3803 ext. 205."

I'll call Mr. Bristow tomorrow.
