It is a Type II, more precisely described as a Type II, Scott #11A position 2R1L.

Thanks alot for this detailed info. Assuming the 2R1L is plate position? May I also be so rude to give it some rough Cat.Value.

Thanks again!

Remco,

Yes. 2R1L is the plate position. Scott #11A were printed from plates of 200 impressions divided into left and right panes of 100 each. Your stamp was printed from the second position (counting from top left to bottom right) of the right pane of plate 1 in its late (L) state. So the stamp printed from the bottom right corner would be 100R1L.

The Scott catalogs deduct for pen cancels, so I would estimate your stamp would have a retail value in the $3 to $8 range. It has three full margins and nice color and impression.

Thanks Classic Coins. Had some light clue, but you made it very clear. Indeed sadly not 4 nice margins, but like the somewhat fresh look. Although I have to say that this the only one of this type :).

Thanks again and enjoy the weekend.
