The APS mini-albums are free and are pdf-downloads so you can print them out yourself. Nice to see them doing their part to continue to promote the hobby! |

Thanks, Swabbie: My first thought was this would be a good way to get young girls involved in the hobby (girl scouts?). But after looking at it, I realized it would be a very expensive book to fill. It's lovely, one would have to sell a lot of Thin Mints to buy those Columbians with Queen Isabella Either way, I need to check the APS website more often. I like the album they made for the state flags. I don't collect current issues, but I think I might try to get them all in postally used condition. Of course, I'd have to clip them closely and mount them on paper. Anyway, thanks. KirkS |

The Columbians shown in the album are actually the 1992 printing (notice the date is changed from the original 1892 to the modern 1992) and the ID number gives you an option of using the original 1892 Columbians or the modern 1992 Columbians. However, some of the OTHER stamp choices are rather stunning! The UX4 card pictured on page 3 catalogs for $400! And then the newspaper stamps on the next page -- the PR32 shown in the center is easily $1000+. k |

OK, never mind. Now I know why they chose those stamps.
The title of the album is "The First Fifty Women on United States Stamps", which laswabbie pointed out in the first post! |

When I first read this post, I really likeed the idea of a "first women's album" until I clicked on it and saw some of the stamps it would take. A little out of my budget for now, at least.
I should have learned by now, when the word "first" and stamps come together, especially US, its usually expensive, lol! |

It will probably be impossible for me to fill every space of every APS mini-album, but even with my modest stamp budget I can get most of them. This is the closest I'll ever come to completing an album of any country! |

Quote: can someone explain what APS is or means APS is an acronym for the American Philatelic Society. If you look at the upper left corner of every web page here, you will see that Stamp Community Family is an APS Chapter, as well as the APS logo displayed. On this site, the APS logo is actually a clickable link to the APS website. |
