Hi, Have just registered , having found the site via a Google search for "Franco Bollo" stamps - one of which turned up in a job lot I bought at auction.
Philatelic interests Primary, UK before 1970 - philatelic and postal history Secondary, All countries before about 1920 Peripheral, any stamp that intrigues me ! (that's unlikely to be anything post-1970)
Background. Retired university lecturer (oceanography) Other interests. Cricket, restoring, driving and firing steam locomotives, angling. Have travelled the world in search of all three, but now at age 81 tend to concentrate on my indoor interest.
I note your (American) spellcheck doesn't like my limey spelling, but I ain't gonna change now !
