Hello all. As the title suggests I know nothing about US stamps.
All I have is a 1991 SG world catalogue. (in black and white)
I would like to ask if, using your knowledge, there is anything great on this page?
I'm going to ask about each page separately as then I will have time to research each one without getting sidetracked.

Many thanks in advance. Peter in Jersey (the old one)

If closer pics are needed then let me know.

Just used the Image Optimizer for the first time. You guys have all the bases covered. Stunning.

There are some BETTER Scott #s there....
BUT....when pieces are missing there is NO VALUE.
They would be considered "space fillers"...period.
Sorry.

I think the star fancy cancel is interesting. And the strangely perfed Franklin at the lower right is worth a better look.

Otherwise, the stamps look they've been sleeping in the rough.

They would be valuable if they were in good shape. Most of those stamps look like they were put in the washing machine, and dryer to boot. Ouch

Alas, the condition is very poor as has been stated above. The Franklin appears to be just a damaged off center example, the one cancel is nice but the rest....it's too bad because if they were in nice condition they would be worth some money.

The "greatest" thing I am seeing is in the second row, second stamp from the right. That is a 6c Lincoln with a well struck New York Foreign Mail star-in-star-in-circle fancy cancellation (Weiss ST-MP1). If the stamp is completely sound with neither tears, creases, thin spots, nor stains, then in US currency it might fetch $30 if the right buyer came along. A dealer might give you $5. It's anybody's guess.

Be careful removing it. Old stamps are fragile and easily damaged, as so many of the other stamps on that page demonstrate.

BTW the album has the wrong date for the first issue of US postage stamps. The first Federal issue was in 1847, and the first private issue was 1842. However, 1845 was a watershed year for postmasters' provisional issues. Since Grover Cleveland had two administrations not back to back, the album dates back to the late 1880s or early 1890s. That might be as interesting as the stamps in it.
