So difficult!!-- is this the classic imperforate error scott #498b???? (perf 11)

I know there are fraud copies of this error. I guess one could easily take unwatermaked scott # 481 (1 cent green imperf) plate block and just perforate it to make it look like this. Perfs look legitimate to me. The perfs look like they were separated from other stamps. But I have doubts. Let me know what you all think. Thanks

Here is an example with certificate from an auction site. Does it help to compare these?

Kevin, I can not see them. Are you talking about blind perfs?

Peter

Interestingly, there is also a blind perf mark on the top right stamp above the "U" of U.S.

There seems to be a row of blind perfs where indicated. The two in the margins are visible and a couple more very hard to see in the design itself. Curious though as it does not align with either left or right, spacing-wise.

Also, on the 2 stamps on the left, there are depressions to the right of all of the left vertical perforation holes, if I am seeing this correctly.

So what does this signify? The blind perfs mean that this is not a 498b?

If there are any blind pergs it is disqualified as being the imperf between (to qualify they have to be completely missing) Unfortunately there do appear to be a column of blind perfs where Kollector kurt indicated.

under super high mag on my computer, there are definite faint perfs down the right stamp! Its amazing how well you can see this stuff under high mag on a computer screen. I have learned that the best way to analyze stamps is scanning onto a computer. I find that magnifying tools/glasses/ lenses are useless compared to a computer and scanner. Thanks Kevin for good analysis.
