Here are some color varieties on some of my perforated 3-cent stamps. As I said, I don't specialize in the perforated colors, but I'm calling these (from top left to bottom right):

Pale claret (#25A, gash on shoulder)
Brownish carmine (#26A)
Orange brown (#26)
Dull red (#26)

Thanks again Classic Coins. The stamp I have listed is a little more darker than your Brown Carmine you have listed. I'll go with a claret as you said previously. I know monitors are or can be a little different. Some nice stamps you have there!
What is the cancel name on the Dull Red #26?. I will have to search for types of cancels. I know there are a few inScotts and 1847usa has some listed in Bill's book.

Thanks again for the help Classic Coins you have been a great help. When I get around to my imperfs I hope you chime in.

Newby, yours could be brownish carmine as well. Very hard to tell without seeing it in person.

Classic Coins I'm not good at shade variations. Are there other stamps that have the same color for comparison or would it have to be around the same date for the shade to match? Would you be willing to view in hand?

Newby, I'm not good enough with the #25/26 colors to evaluate yours. I would guess that there are perhaps four or five people in the world that could be considered experts in the perforated 3-cent colors. I'd be willing to look at your imperforates. Here is an imperforate color sampler for comparison:

Thanks Classic Coins for the information. I will bookmark the colors of the imperfs and if I have any problems I will post.

Once more you have been a big help.
Thank you so much for helping a Newby.
