Could someone tell me what the difference is between these two errors? Is it only that the 467 is perf 10, and that the 505 is perf 11? Can you tell if the 467 is hinged? I realize that the 505 is. Would anyone recommend trying to remove some of that hinge? Of course it had to get it on the error stamp!
Your assumptions about catalog # are correct. The #467 looks to have a mark on the gum....if sent for a cert would guarantee they call it hinged. As for the HR on the #505..... why try to remove??? Only bad things can happen.
If one has a VERY steady hand with a small artist's paintbrush and a pair of tongs the hinge can be removed, but unless one really knows what they are doing it's best not to try. I have seen it done on some very high cat items, but only by people with decades of experience at doing it.
