Just saw this one on ebay and got curious

http://www.ebay.com/itm/111140845356/

Is it really that expensive and an ebay material?

Doesn't appear to me in the same class of a Z grill or Inverted Jenny.

Any thoughts?

add to that, Seller doesnt offer returns.... seems an obvious RED alert !

Very funny.

I never came across this variation before and the price made me read more about this stamp.

The catalog value for this stamp is around $6-7k but I guess folks can ask whatever they want. But his asking price explains why it has gone unsold for many, many months.

Does that rear impression even qualify as an oddity or an error?

The US Jenny or 1854 India Inverted Head 4a make sense as its very explicit.. Not sure about this one.

"Printed on both sides" varieties are genuine EFO items (you choose which letter is most applicable) and are sought after, but not at this price.

There is a nicer although used example in the Metzger Black Jack Collection auction (2002) with a catalog value of $5,000.00 although I do not have the Prices Realized.

It looks more like a offset impression on its reverse side, despite the PF cert's mention of having been printed on both sides.

The listing and cert are correct, it is not an offset because the orientation of the portrait (offsets are mirrored, printed both side is not).

Just so the record is complete within this thread, in case the ebay listing becomes unavailable for some reason, the seller's asking price in this listing is $150,000.

This is the stamp once owned by Nathan Liberman. It went to auction in 2010 and went for 5,500 dollars (presumably.)

http://stampauctionnetwork.com/f/f12624.cfm#63

The image on ebay is simply a download of the stamp from Seigel auction house.

If only ebay cared about this kind of fraud...
