I have these 2 #211 Jackson's and the first one has a heavy blue shading around the margin's and a much darker image over all than the 2nd one in the photo. The first one has no glue and the second one does.

Is it possible I have a used #211D? Thank You

Anything is possible, but not very likely.

Was the 211D issued to be used or just for collectors?

You might want to review these two posts and the Siegel data base for 211D. They may help you in your identification. No 211D's are known used. Not too likely that one will be "discovered" this long after production--although not necessarily an impossibility.

The 211D was not available in Post Offices, had to be specially ordered from Washington, and never had gum. Postal records indicate that only 26 were sold. To use it for postage would have required going out of one's way to destroy a stamp obtained under special circumstances. It simply was not done.

While it is theoretically possible to say that one could have been used, as a practical matter it is impossible for anyone to prove that it happened.

Is there any other known #211 with this deep blue shade and color in the margins? Thank you everyone for sharing your knowledge.

I was reading the links above and It led me to http://theswedishtiger.com/211D-scotts.html.
This site said 25 of the original 26 survive but had no information on what might have happened to the missing 26th stamp.
is there any info on what might have happened to the missing copy? Have a safe 4th everyone.

Hideandseeker--
Essay is an expert in this issue, and has already told you it isn't what you really want it to be. We see this as lot.

Suggest that you spend the money to have it certified, because you can't be convinced that you don't have a rarity.

Good luck! Ray
