That cartoon really says it, Don.

Yes, ebay is truly "the school of hard knocks"...especially if you are an inexperienced collector.

Back to buffalostamps2014's forgery auction.

Here is the high bidder's bidding history:
30-Day Summary
Total bids: 2031
Items bid on: 342
Bid activity (%) with this seller: 0%
Bid retractions: 5
Bid retractions (6 months): 106

That is a massive amount of bid retractions. And, they seem to do a whole lot of bidding on the same item over and over again.

I wonder how many of those bid retractions are associated with the cartel.

I remember "back in the day", before ebay ended this practice, you could contact any bidder and advise them of potential problems with a lot. Those days are long gone. Have we moved forward? Cheers! Wolf-==-

Many sellers charge too much. A few are giving their stamps away. Unfortunately, it is difficult to tell without a certificate. If the stamp is NH as described and without faults, full retail would be in excess of $4,000 plus a large premium for the plate number. There are no top plate singles this nice to be found in the Siegel power search. one with better centering was found but it appears to have creased selvage.

Too good to be true? You decide.

The first link (in first post) from Stampwolf is not the British cartel

The second Stampwolf link (collect-coins) is one of the newer British cartel seller names.
