If it is a trimmed #40 then it is assumed regummed as well? The reprints were issued without gum so to pass it off as a type 1b (seller states mint/hinged?) Then a regum to add to the deception.

It's a 40Pa. A proof on stamp paper. It is the wrong color to be a trimmed 40.

You can tell it is from the plate used to print #40, among other ways, by the spot at the UR that looks like a discoloration but is actually a guide dot placed at the intersection of vertical and horizontal guide lines (don't see a horizontal in the photo, but traces of a vertical running through the dot are visible); see Neinken p. 529.

You are quite correct stallzer. I have added question mark which I meant to add earlier.

Seems to be way too good of a stamp, but it could be. 14 Day returns is not enough to get a certification. Just looking at it I would say there is no gum, looks to be just paper with a hinge. It could have been washed of any front markings so a cert from the foundation is called for.

myfelix,
It doesn't matter what the listings says about returns, ebay has a return policy which supersedes anything a seller puts in the listing.

You can search this forum, or Google, on this topic and 'enjoy' an full afternoon of reading on the practices of this seller. It has been going on for years and years. Buyers really need to look closer at who they are buying from; this is critical when sending money for stamps 'sight unseen' (buying from images).

Creditors take note, if you feel you are owed money by the British Cartel person you might want to quickly get in line. The liquidators are having issues trying to untangle two of his last most recent companies; there are large debts, 'differences' in stamp valuations, owner 'loans', offshore accounts, potential Director ban, and non-payment of solicitors.
Here is the link to a new British government website with details for these public documents.

I think we've demonstrated that it cannot be as advertised (Scott 5a).
Just for kicks I sent the seller a message explaining how it can't be as described, I am totally shocked that the seller did not reply.....
