Help To Identify The Color. #518 Or #518B?

I read some posts here anda I think that this is dark brown, but I need your help about this stamp...

unfortunately the is a small damage at the top of the stamp, but is well centered...Please help me with this stamp.

First picture is a scan...the others are photos...

It is a 518. A 518b would look brown when compared with a normal 518. The stamp pictured is not brown. Some stamps require using a reference copy for color matching. Scott 518b is one of them.

I took other pictures....I used other brown stamps together to compare the color.

You have the opinion from one of the leading experts in Washington/Franklin US stamps. Clark (cfrphoto) said it was a #518. He also mentioned that a reference stamp was required to match the color shade correctly. #518b is a dark brown with no trace of violet but you need an actual #518b to use as an comparison. Posting images of other brown stamps is not of value in this case. It is a #518.

Unfortunately I donīt have other copies to compare. But if he says that is a 518, I agree. Anyway thank you again!! Always learning and having good time with stamps....
