Spectacular cover! I don't know about the price--seems steep in the current market, even for a strip of 9 and with a cert--but it caught my breath for sure. POS 91-99L per the cert.

Best of luck finding anything remotely close on cover. Finding a strip of 9 is one thing but commercially used on cover is a completely different story. I also can't speak about the price but pricing commercially used covers is difficult thing due to the variables.

That is a cool piece. I wish the top of stamps were better (I.e better centered). Definitely a special item. Thanks for sharing

That's a really neat item - I have not seen that before, and it is very special. There aren't many strips of 9 on cover, with the one-cent 1851 issue stamps.

I can think of three others off-hand, and I believe that there are a few more after that - not a lot. There is the nice 2-10R1L cover which if I recall, has pretty nice margins. I think that might be in Gross's collection now. That is Ty IV. There is the 2-10L2 (2L2 crack) cover, on a triple-rate legal cover. I used to have that one. Don't know where it is now. The strip is a bit better condition than this one, but the overall cover is reduced some if I recall. Then there is a pen-cancelled (I think) cover with a strip that I want to say starts with maybe 51L1L. I haven't seen it in awhile ... might be ex-Grunin, don't recall, but its out there.

I agree with others - at the height of the market this 91L1L strip would certainly be worth what the seller is asking. Lets just say I would have bought it for his asking price 15 years ago. grin. At this point in time, this is the type of really nice item, that just isn't selling.
