The stamps are of '50's shows, not Dragnet or Star Trek (Version 1, First Reality) they were the 60's.

An episode of Lassie was filmed at Meramec Caverns in Stanton Missouri; just off Route 66. It is also know as the birthplace of the bumber sticker. The owners placed a cardboard cutout of Lassie on the spot where it was filmed. That is all I know about Lassie, besides Timmy falling in a well.

Dude - Timmy did seem to lead a rather hazardous existence. He was always falling down a well, getting stuck in a pipe, breaking a leg, getting caught in a flood, etc. etc. etc.

Went down to the post office yesterday. It is a very small rural office. Not even thinking the answer would be yes, I asked the postal worker if they had any of the new TV sheets. She said let me check, went to the safe, and pulled out several of them. Naturally I snapped one up quickly.

Made my day.

I got my sheet the other day. Most of them are before my time but I have seen the reruns. Boomerage is a good channel to see some of the old cartoons like Johnny Quest.

How about Rod Serling and the Twilight Zone? Some of those shows are windows into 1960's America... fear of machines making people obsolete, fear of nuclear war, racism, etc.

Ed Sullivan had EVERYONE on his show... remember Elvis from the waist up? How about the immortal "Ladies and gentlemen... THE BEATLES!!"

Ozzie & Harriet had been on radio before TV, as was Dragnet, You Bet Your Life, Burns & Allen, and I think both westerns. Dinah Shore was on radio a lot as well. We all know Hitchcock and his films...
