Phil,
I can print another if interested & get it postmarked on Saturday. Would you have a preference on a stamp to use? let me know. I had printed one on a #10 envelope and it looked better than the #6 3/4. I had sent it to a Local Post trading partner I owed a cover too.

Phil,
usually for something just for me, I only print 1 cover. Mostly this is because my printer has a tendency to put unwanted ink blotchs on the envelope & I have to print another cover. I might have a damaged 1 laying around, if I haven't used it already.

Phil's never having had a corn dog puts me in mind of a friend here in Arkansas. He's an Arkie born and bred. He was brought up in a small settlement just north of Salem AR and had a bit of a hard-scrabble existence. On one occasion while visiting his son, his daugther-in-law had fixed spaghetti and for whatever reason it was revealed that he had never had spaghetti until he went in the Navy at 20. Daughter-in-law asked how he could have gone so long without eating spaghetti to which he replied "easy; it didn't go with squirrel."

Cgrotha...well let me say this...when I was a kid growing up 10 miles from a railroad station..we had neighbors Italian people who had a dairy farm and took in a city family as boarders during the summer...the boarders had a son my age..i knew him as Junior..and when I didnt have chores to do I would go woodchuck hunting with Junior...I wouldnt shoot rabbits in the summer...but Junior had no problem with doing it...and thats when I was introduced to rabbit cacciatore...i ate rabbit with them in summer and didnt die...i don't think we ever had squirrel cacciatore..

I've eaten squirrel; it's okay. Rabbit is better, and so is beaver, which tastes more like pork roast. Bear is the worst -- very fatty and has to be eaten hot. My ultimate favourite, though, is moose, which tastes beefier than beef. I'm not so fussy about deer, but deer is a meat that is easy to taint if it isn't field dressed perfectly, and even then, it depends on which locale you shoot the deer in -- the ones that are grain fed are the sweetest. Caribou is also good, as is bison, which is a very dark meat that makes great hamburgers.

NOT for sale or trade. Just to show.

My mom and I were going though some postcards that we just had sitting around. We found this. Have no idea how long we have had it, or even where it came from. Mom likes it though, so do I, so it will remain in our postcard collection.
It's unfortunate that someone had used sticky tape to put it into an album. We can't do anything about it now. Just better to leave well enough alone.

doodles,
Thank you for sharing. Is the card used? I do have a postcard like that one in my collection already, it is a classic.

Would you believe I never had a corndog ???

Ok, since we're doing nevers - I spent over 20 years in the Navy but I've never had a cup of coffee or smoked a cigarette.

Greg,

That's ok, I think in the ten years I was in the NAVY I smoked and drank enough for both of us, so it all equals out.
