hi all

i think I am going to vent a bit.
i hope it is ok.
i just got an envelope from a stamp company.
it gave me the prices they would pay for some stamps.
first they must be all off paper.
all centered.
in groups of 100.
add 5 more for problems stamps.
they will be glad then to offer .50 to a dollar for most lots.
i understand that a company has to make profit but they want someone else to do all the work for them.
i will not mention the company name but you all am sure you know it.

please excuse my venting.

thanks dan

Crazy. I guess they think since you are a collector, you value your time at $0.00/hour. And the cost of mailing these stamps to them are yours to bear? 300-500 stamps later (or more with postage) and you get a cup of coffee somewhere! What a deal!

It's perfectly fine to vent here. You are not the only one, I've done it several times. I would like to know the name of the company........ post it.

I guess I'm glad I got into this for fun.

I have dedided not to sell my spares. I just give them away or trade them. So far it's been a positive experience.

i prefer not to tell you the name of the company.
i just can say it is one of the largest.

i find it fun to collect but just get upset when big companies rip others off.
do not mind me...i am just venting again.

thanks

I would also go with the sell, trade, or giveaway idea for duplicates. Most the used are common, low catalog values. Plus I don't have 100 well centered copies to send off.

Rather than getting ripped off for a few bucks after doing lots of work, I think there are charitable organizations that would love to get the stamps and you might get a little tax write off too as a donation.

One of the biggest problems is , when they receive the stamps.
They reject all but the Finest stamps,Vf+ centering, light cancels.
One word Beware
