That is a total of all the standard precancel listings. That includes Bureaus and all local types on any stamp issued with a precancel.
It still does not include 'Handstamp dated controls', 'printed dated controls', 'pseudos', 'silents', 'private commemoratives' 'any omitted standard styles', plus any new 'town & types' after & including 1998.

Note: Marshall Island, Palau & Miconesia are currently independent, however the USPO still operates their system and local precancls can be found on stamps
from these countries.
Canton Island is now within the nation of Kiribati and there has been no further use of precancels.
Canal Zone is now within the nation of Panama, again no further use of precancels.

Note: The United Nation precancel is one of the few that have been mentioned in Scott's Specialized Catalog and is the 1st issued precancel by the USPO to be used on a non-US stamp. The precancel is on Scott #2 the '1 1/2 cent' depicting the UN building & UN emblem.

Note: No other US occupied or administrated territories ever used a precancel.
However, the Philippines did have "control marks" for use by private companies
that look like precancels and often confused with them. The overprints can be found with or without company name generally used around Manila.

I'm thinking we need a new heading for Precancels, so that all of this information can be together.

I like the idea of breaking out the 'precans' with their own heading. We're seeing a pretty good level of interest at least of late.
