sfgoda wow you use to live real close to me then cause my property borders Roseville/Citrus heights,I worked at the Riebes auto parts store on Aub blvd for 3 some years, when I was younger I lived in Roseville up til the 5th grade then moved on up to Auburn and my home town Grass Valley then when I met my husband I moved back down to Roseville its been almost 5 years now i've been back,I want to find somebody who collects stamps that lives some what close,Sharksfan is the closest and he is still a good couple hours away.Back to my curling stamps and these ones I have were not curling when I was at home, and the curl is the gum on the inside, the ones im looking at at this moment are from Togolaise and there not old,old but not new,new either when I go home will they un-curl on there own or what should I do?

More than likely they will still be curled when you get home. Put them under a few heavy books and leave them there overnight.

They will NOT uncurl on their own. You will need to press them. However, make sure you are back in a low-humidity environment before you press them. Otherwise, the stamps will end up sticking to whatever you used to press them!

Also, don't wait to long. If you allow the gum to dry out too long (e.g., several months) you do run the risk of producing crackled gum when you do press them out.

For those of you who collect US stamps, this was one of the reasons gum breakers were used on US stamps in the mid-1900s.

The answer is simple ..... put them in your album..... they don't curl when mounted.
