I have a folder of a sheet of 3˘ stamps in an engraved folder. The folder contains the information that the stamps were presented to me in 1951 by the NY Postmaster at the dedication of the Eastchester Station.

The stamps are autographed by the Postmaster.

I also have a picture of me with my parents accepting the folder from the Postmaster. (I'm 3 years old and crying bitterly.)

I don't collect stamps. I have some emotional attachment to the folder, but is it worth anything to a collector?

Welcome to Stamp Community Forum, vectorbabe!!

It looks very nice. How come we don't get to see your baby pic?!

It's a nice postal history item. I'm not that knowledgeable about postal history, but I would think it should fetch $25-$50, maybe more if you find the right buyer. However, to even get it to sell in that range, you would have to find the right buyer who has an interest in this type of postal history item, and that is not always that easy for an item of this nature.

The stamp sheet itself (without the signature and presentation folder) is relatively common and retails for <$10, so the main value is in the specific postal history. That's why you will need to find the appropriate buyer.

the image looks a little soiled .
is this scanned from a digital camera with shadows?
this would affect the value somewhat.

It's the whole package and the story that would make this item worth money.

The folder is a little yellow with age as is the tape that was used to hold the acetate sheet over the stamps.

But the image you're looking at was taken with a digital camera so there is a horrible reflection on the acetate.

If the story of the dedication of the post office is important, I should add that my father owned a construction/building company doing a lot of Federal and State work in New York City.

His company built the Eastchester branch.
