They do not belong to one set,they are two sets in different design and scott number.

I have check the Scott Catalog,show the stamps with black border is memorial issue in 1934,Sept.4 .

Yes, it's a memorial issue for Paul von Hindenburg, who died in 1934.

These black-bordered stamps are known as "Mourning Stamps". Germany is not the only country to release them; Belgium also did for Queen Astrid, and Yugoslavia did for King Alexander.

Note that all three issues occurred in the 1930s.

Hi Folks......


Just to add a word here......covers from just about anywhere can also have black borders that signify a mourning letter is enclosed.....generally known as "Mourning Covers".

I don't remember who it is, but someone here on the SCF has quite a collection of mourning covers. I guess I could do a search.
