A paste-up is the location on a flat plate coil stamp. Where two sheets of flat plate stamps were pasted together. Paste-ups are usually found at 20 stamp intervals.

Now I see it. Thanks Butch, and Thanks Lonedan for the thread. Interesting and like Stampdude, I needed to learn something today apart from the bad things that folk are doing in our village.
Thanks Londonbus1 |

Hi Dan.... Here's something similar but very different........ Yours is pasted together after it was printed....note the missing pattern at the seam. This German/Bavarian stamp is printed on a paper seam/splice. |

Thanks Dan for the sharing. And thanks Butch for the explanation of "paste-up",thanks Tom for the example. I want to know how to make a definition in a word about the repair of stamps,I mean use different stamps to combine one stamps for fake or repair purpose.Named fake?repaired?or also can say paste-up in English language? Thanks, ZhangCheng |

Hi ZhangCheng......
The only thing I can think of would be....."fantasy creation".
If you have something that someone created using different stamps maybe it would help to show a picture.

I think what ZhangCheng means is when two similar damaged stamps are combined to make one stamp that "looks" okay. The phrase he is probably looking for is "spliced together", but it would be for the purpose of deception. |

Hello Tom,sorry for the vague . Yes Glenn's understanding of my mind is right. What is the phrase/term for "similar damaged stamps are combined to make one stamp",whatever the purpose is for repair or deception. And I will copy and post a language contrast of Chinese-English philately term on a new thread immediately. Thanks Tom and Glenn for your time. ZhangCheng |
