I'm completely stumped on these. Any help on an ID is appreciated!
Thanks!

They look like they may be Mongolian to me...I'll have to see if I can confirm this, though.

Nope, Tannu Tuva.

See at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Postag...f_Tannu_Tuva

They do have Mongolian writing on them, were issued in 1926, and show the Buddhist Wheel of Life.

I was looking for an ID for over an hour before I gave up and posted the inquiry.

Ironically, I found my answer as I was checking another stamp.

They are 1926 "Wheel of Life" issues from Tannu Tuva, a region on the Siberian border in northwestern Mongolia.

As for their authenticity, I'll have to check the watermark. The size and perf matches Scott's description.

Experienced stamps need a home too. I'd rather have an example that is imperfect than no example.

Wpg,
Thanks for the ID confirmation and the link!
I like to know as much about the stamp and its country as I can.

The Wikipedia article was interesting. It most likely explains why the stamps are in such good condition. They probably never saw Tannu Tuva!

Ah yeah, I remember having some of those in my collections. Unfortunately, they were in such bad shape (ripped, etc) I had to get rid of them...
