Iceland looks to be Scott 278, October 1, 1953, twenty cents mint or used in 2008. My Vol. 1 is open to Aden and covered in a layer of stamps, so Bulgaria will have to wait for now.

The Bulgarian stamp is Scott #627 (1948) and is priced at the minimum catalog value of 20c in the 2009 catalog.

I like that Iceland stamp nic. What is the statue in the background on the stamp? An animal or person or ??

Actually, the background shows a quill/ink and a candle hanging on the wall. The book on the desk is the Reykjabok.

doe that mean I look for "Island" = "Iceland" to identify future Iceland stamps? What is the meaning of the letters "Aur"?

khj your pic is real nice, can't seem to hold my hand steady for the camera in these close up shots.

It is an abbreviation for their monetary unit.

100 Aurar = 1 Krona

Aurar is actually plural. The singular form is 1 Eyrir.

That is a nice looking stamp. I like the little scrolly thingies around the edges. And the cancel / postmark is from Reykyavik (or Reykjavik), the capital I think.
