Spock - I bought a handheld dual-wave UV light from Amos Advantage a couple of months ago. It is obviously not as powerful as a desktop model but it seems to do what I need. I think it was about $80. I'm not sure of the brand and I'm too lazy to go look, but it is the only one they carry. Here is the link: http://www.amosadvantage.com/scotto...rt%5Fdesc=uv |

Lighthouse L80 is very good. Costs about 20$, runs several years with a single set of batteries and very handy to carry around. |

It depends on what your plans are...
A normal longwave (like L80) UV lamp is very good for detecting faults (and fungus etc); and it works on a very large scale of worldwide stamps.
A dualwave lamp is recommendable IMO only if you want to go deeper into world of phospors/tagging and papertypes. |

Hi spock, how about the small UV lamp stand I see often here in stores, used by cashiers to check on fake paper bills, it's only around US$50 dollars here, NO brand- it's brandless made in china, so you should have it over there too, also about the same price. It's just like a small reading lamp, except it's a UV light that shines down on the paper |

Bought a hand-held, pen-like one, called a Stylus "Streamlight" UV one from theledlight.com/stylus_uv online. I've been very happy with it. cost $27.00. Allan |
