First off, a rare opportunity to see the scanned top part of the first page of Dominica of my Stanley Gibbons King George VI fastbound album. This is why the scan is a little crooked!

Of course, the first series shown is the 1937 Coronation set, followed by the first definitive series issued 15 August 1938. No real fancy varieties, well affordable, and typical of the bi-coloured stamps of the reign. I really like the various colour combinations of the series.
My 10/- stamp has a lovely "G.P.O. DOMINICA" CDS.
The 1 1/2d, 2 1/2d, and the 3 1/2d, depict people "picking limes"; and the 1d, 3d, 2/-, and 5/- all depict the Layou River. The two palmtrees to the right are part of the outer border colour, which make the stamp look somewhat three-dimentional, with the two palm trees standing out front.
A note on colour descriptions... if you see a bi-coloured stamp described in Stanley Gibbons, for example the 1/-, the stamp is described as violet and olive-green. The colur in the centre (and the most single colour on the stamp) is always described first, and then the second colour.
