Interested in forum members opinions on which US stamps or issues are your favorites? My personal favorites are the 24 cent 1861 in all shades but particularly the steel blue, and the 24, 30, and 90 cent pictorials. My favorite issues are the pictorials and the 1903 regular issue.

to the SCF! I doesn't answer your question directly, but I love the revenues even though I don't collect them. |

First off welcome to the forum. Be sure to tell us a little about your collection.
I do like #571-573 which were reprinted for the Washington 2006 Expo souvineer sheet. I was able to attend the show as well as the FDOI ceremony in D.C. As a bonus #571 features the Lincoln Memorial which ties in nicely with my Abraham Lincoln topical collection. |

It depends on the day, but right now I like the higher values of the 1922 Fourth Bureau Issue, starting with the American Indian at 14c through America at $5.00. This is the series that included the Capitol, a buffalo/bison, Niagara Falls, etc. Good stuff.
Welcome.

agree with last two responders--the 1922 regular issue is a beautiful engraved series. As far as my collecting interests as asked by stamperdude, I have been collecting on and off since the late 1970's. I collect primarily unused certified up to Scott #313. I have a number of the WF stamps but they never did much for me. The 1922 issue is another matter altogether. My favorite issue is the 1869 pictorials, but I also am a shade collector of the 1861 24 center. I am not a fan of graded certs beyond the 1903 issue as much of the grading I have seen, despite explanations to the contrary, seem arbitrary and the prices paid for common post 1925 stamps just because PSE gives them a grade of 95 to 100 seem insane to me, given their mintage. Re: stamperdudes Lincoln topical, you can't beat #77 or #122. |

My favourites would be the Postage dues, and the Pitney Bowes meter labels. I like US stamps generally because they are nice to handle, the paper is substantial, and the perforation size makes for an attractive stamp. They are well designed and for the beginner, they are easily collected in mint condition, it is a collection easily started.
They have fell out of favour since the unsolubleinsoluble gum issues.

My favorite classical U.S. stamps would have to be the 1901 Pan-American commemoratives (scott 294-299) and also scott 571-573.
