I am new to stamps, I have some old post cards dated from 1893 to 1916. I have managed to track down most of the stamps except for 2. They may not be stamps but actually pressed/printed on the envelope. They are green ovals with a silhouette face looking to the left. Once is 1 cent and the other is 2 cents. Can somebody help me identify these and their value?

Thanks in advance

Can you supply a scan? Without a scan it is kind of difficult to tell you what you might have here.

The fact that these are post cards couldn't prove too much of a difficulty in identifying for many of us here.

If you have a Scotts Specialized catalog they should be under the Postal Cards category. If you do not have a scan or photo available could you tell us the name of the individual represented ie. President McKinley and the year of the postmark.

Well I may have used the wrong words...it is actually an envelope not a post card. There is no name, the stamp is an actual oval not a square with an oval in it.

That would be a stationary item. They are also listed in the Scott's Specialized Catalog under the prefix UX more than likely.

You could easily buy a Scott Specialized Catalog online and it would very much be worth looking into. You could probably find a used one from a couple years back on Amazon for 25ish dollars.

Also, try your local library. They should have one in the reference section. Most large book stores (Barnes & Noble) carry them or something similar on the collector shelves.
