I have a combination of loose and albums.

I do have an empty (well it used to be empty!) album I am going to be putting my keepers in.

I do not have a Scott book, but I do have "The official Blackbook Price Guide to United States Postage Stamps" from 2009. I bought a monthly membership to findyourstampsvalue.com so I could plug in key words and get a Scott number.

I use several sites to get Scott #s for new US stamps.
Here's one:

In the right of the page you can click on the "Scott Catalog Number" and
it will show the scott # (s) for the stamp or series.
