Hello everyone I'm a newbie on this forum. I used to collect stamps when I was in high school that was like twenty years ago. They were still in my closet and I wish I could share them with you in here. Glad to have found this forum.
I used sticky albums on those stamps and I know you can give me tips how to remove without damaging them.

I've been here about a year and I've found everyone to be knowledgeable and friendly. We look forward to hearing more about your collection.
As far as I know, you'll be extremely lucky if you can remove them without damage, but maybe someone here will know a way.

Thanks KirkS! I do hope there would be a remedy. They're world stamp collections on more than a 100 countries. I was just to young and stubborn at that time to have done such a thing :-) |

You are very fortunate if the stamps aren't already ruined by the adhesive in the "sticky" albums leaching into the stamps. If they are used I would just soak the whole page and remount them correctly. Of course, if they're ,mint that may also be the only alternative. The last will result in rather undesirable used stamps. |

I assume you are talking about picture albums. Do NOT soak them it won't work! I bought a collection with some of those once. Try regular lighter lighter fluid (also works as watermark fluid). I have also used rubber cement remover with fairly reasonable success. Just make sure to wash them with clean water immediately after. Remember rubber cement remover IS a solvent. |

I haven't tried it, but acetone might work well too. Don't forget to use acetone or lighter fluid in well ventilated area. Steve  |
