Hi all, I am trying NOT to collect Stamps (LOL) as I collect many items already and am trying to cut it all out excpet for Autographs and stamps. anyway, your sister site gave me this link so I hope it's ok I post here.

I originally STARTED to collect stamps a few years ago. I had all the Star Wars ones I could find. Also, as a graph collector, I had tons and tons of unique cancelled stamps from around the globe (I remember one guy literally covered the entire front of his 8x10 envelope with stamps...) and I ended up giving those away. Apparently, I must've bought something else as I found myself with sheets from a company. Now I am wondering the value (if any) and how I should go about selling them and was hoping nice people here might give me a clue as I am clueless.

All these stamps are related to 9-11 and are uncancelled from varying countries. I have these:

St Kitts (4 stamps on a sheet/block) "United We Stand" witha value of 80c on them each; there's a flag of both countries and a fireman's helmet on them.

I have a Guinea block of four stamps (sheet I guess) with a value of 500 F each (francs?) with a picture of the Statue of Liberty and hands stretched out

Azerbaycan block (never heard of that country unless it's azerbaijan) set of three stamps (sheet) with a 1500 m value each with a picture of US flag and theirs and Earth adn Twin Towers

Grenada set of four stamps 80 cents each (sheets - I have 5 of these) "united We Stand" with the Twin Towers shown with American Flag image on them

Finally, a St Vincent 6.00 stamps "In Memorium" with Twin Towers scene. One stamp only on a sheet.

So my questions are... 1) are these worth anything at all other than face value in those countries... or is there someplace I can go to see their value?
2) If I did sell these, should I list them together in ONE lot as a memorial package or separately.
3) are any of these usable in the US (Sounds bizarre to ask, but I am not sure if any of these might be a US territory...I don't think so but never hurts to aks?).

Also, would this be a place to come if say I were in need of acquiring stamps for my autograph hobby? I wouldn't want people to get MAD because I'd be SPENDING the stamps as they would be for use on return mail to me. I am unable to acquire say one or two stamps for specific countries...like right now, I need a first class stamp to mail back an envelope from France.

Sorry for naivite; I am VERY good with autographs and am learning about coins, so I can help anyone on those subjects! Email anytime.

THANKS TO ALL FOR BEARING WITH ME.
Sue

Welcome to the forum!

Here are 2007 Scott Catalogue values for your stamps:

St Kitts 2002 #531 80c United We Stand, CV $1.75 (for a single, printed in sheets of 4)

Guinea - my catalog listing only goes up to 1999, I estimate your stamps CV ~$4.00

Azerbaijan 2002 #736 1500 manat In Remembrance of Sept. 11, 2001 Terrorist Attacks, CV $4.75 for a sheet of 3

Grenada Grenadines 2002 #2393 80c United We Stand CV $0.60 (for a single, printed in sheets of 4)

St. Vincent 2002 #3047 $6 In Remembrance of Sept. 11, 2001 Terrorist Attacks, CV $4.50

None of these stamps can be used on US mail.
I would sell them as a lot - some stamp sellers here may have different opinions.

You could probably buy current French stamps on ebay.com or ebay.fr.

Thank you so much for responding...very kind of you too look those up. I know nothing about Stamp collecting. I have though, started a small collection of US stamps (just a few sheets and probably won't do more) of "animation" ones like Disney, Warner Brothers and DC Comics and of course since I am a Star Wars collector, I did buy those. I got them for the kids... I don't know why I have these other ones. Guess they're mass produced and not that collectible.

I didn't even think about ebay France for unused postage... might be worth a go I guess.

I guess this board isn't as active as the coin community; they have a ton of collectors there and everyone is more into commenting.

Anyway, thanks again! I just checked today for the answer by fluke; I almost gave up! Sue

Hi Sue,
We are happy to help out! The stamp community just got started 2 1/2 months ago, so we don't have quite as many members as the coin community - yet! Hope you keep on collecting and post some more questions here!

This board seems active to me...I signed up for the Stamporama site at the same time and it has much less activity with many more members. Other sites seem to have degenerated into a simple trading forum with flameing e-mails directed at each other. A great feature of this board is the number of pictures posted. A big to the founder and moderators.

Charles.
