Hello Everyone, my name is Allen and I am a stamp collector. It's been approximately 15 minutes since I licked my last hinge.

This is the place for the 12 step recovery program for people that are totally addicted to stamps right?

Anyway, I'm willing to bet that I have already met most of you at some other places around the Internet, but I just discovered this one yesterday, and I must say I'm mightily impressed! I will definitely put this site on my "to check everyday" list.

For those that don't know me, I've been collecting stamps (and other stamp related items) since I was a child of 8 years old. My main interests are US and Canada used singles and mint souvenir sheets. I also have a collection of Disney, WWII Germany and occupied countries, and Trains on Stamps. Another collection consists of postal history and related items for Elmira, NY and other cities within Chemung County. I also collect US and Canada precancels, bureaus and selected states for US, and whatever I can find for Canada. Finally, my favorite collection most likely (that's nonsense really, it's impossible for me to have a favorite) is my Americana series specialized collection, which consists of everything you can possibly imagine that might be remotely connected to the series.

Anyway, I look forward to participating and lurking on this board, as there seem to be some good, knowledgeable people here, and it seems like it's pretty active.

Allen Bohart

Philb,
Point in fact, it WAS years ago! It's been almost 2 years since I've done anything actively with stamp collecting, so years is accurate... Anyway, good to hear from you!

First of all, welcome.

Second of all, if you don't mind my asking but why Elmira and Chemung County?

Just my idle curiosity and if I'm poking my nose where it don't belong just tell me.

Larry,
I don't mind at all... Elmira's where I grew up and nearly all my family is still there.

Thanks for the welcome,
-Allen

Hi Allen,

Welcome to the SCF.

You wont find any recovery program here, we just push you deeper in, if that's possible.

Welcome, Allen! Glad you have found us.... I've been busy the past few years with the upheaval in the econmy, job changes, etc. My Americana has been put on the back burner... but I'm slowly getting back into it.

I've a few interesting FDCs if you're interested, and I have the Americana CD from Ron Blanks... if you wish.

I finally settled down with a job at a local stamp shop.

David,
Is your email address still the same? If so, I'll send you a message off-line concerning the above... If not, drop me a line (mine hasn't changed).
