Was in Missoula Mt about a month ago and went to a park that had a carousel. On the wall inside the room they had a framed cover, had a block of 4 carousel horses. If I remember correctly it was a FDC from Montana. Looked all over for this, and beginning to think I'm losing my mind. Does this truly exist? Have you seen one of them or have one? Thanks,
Jay

I guess I was mistaken in it being a FDC from Montana. Thank you all for your help! |

It very well could have been an Unofficial First Day Cover ie. Someone had an unused cachet cover applied the new issue stamps and had them canceled by hand at that post office on the First Day of Sale. I occasionally purchase a new issue at my PO on the FDOS and have a cover postmarked. Since it is not the official FDOI city, the cover would be considered an Unofficial FDOS.
Do you recall if the postmark said First Day of Issue or First Day of Sale or a pictorial event cancel or was a circular hand cancel? |

I don not recall anything except a cache on the envelope. Maybe FDC from Sandusky. |
