Here's another mystery item in my collection, a pair of Washington 1 cent stamps with a kind of roulette perforation between them. I seem to remember something about St. Louis involved in this, but I never wrote anything down and now I'm totally lost. I can't seem to find them in the catalog, but that might just be a case of catalog blindness... Anybody have anything to offer in the way of information on these? Do they need to be expertised? -Allen

Thank you very much Will! Ok, so now I know what they are, and that fakes exist, and that they are very difficult to expertise. Mine certainly don't have the initials mentioned on them anywhere... I wonder what the chances are that they are real?

Any body have a notion of the prices for the Kansas City roulettes? I just can't believe the 2007 Scott specialized prices. They seem so low.
Abohart, whatever you do, don't separate them or discard them. You never know. |

No worries, rohumpy, I don't plan to... they will sit in my curiosity section and I'll always wonder. After further reading yesterday, it is impossible to get them expertised in anything less than a block, so there really isn't any way to tell if they are real or not.
-Allen
ps. out of curiosity, what was that price? |

abohart, From 2007 Scott US Specialized---For authenticated blocks of 4: 1 cent $100 and 2 cent $200. The values are in italics.
Believe me, if I could buy a block of 4 of either for those prices, I would not hesitate. |

One more comment, Do you take that each and every stamp originally had the initials on the back? Sure would be a lot of trouble to initial each stamp in the sheet. |

Looks like I need to upgrade from my 2006 catalog as there's no mention of it. I just did a google search to find that link above. Catalogs are just so expensive. I tend to get the hand me downs from the library. Will |

rohumpy, I suppose that I probably misread that... I think those initials only referred to the examples that are in the possession of the NPM. So, in answer to your question, yes I did at first, now I don't. -Allen |

Battlestamps, check for a note following either 405 or 406 (I think, this is being dredged up from memory) |
