They look like Scott R440 in the 2009 edition, Volume 1.

The question here is whether or not I attributed the correct catalog number to these stamps. Was I correct? I don't know all the mistakes but I make my fair share of them.

I am liking the whole grouping of those stamps Tonya. Thanks for sharing! The guy looks liek a movie star or something.

Sorry no numbers here! Other things rattling around in my head but no numbers.

And halflizard, is there a gathering of all your sayings / aphorisms? I am getting a kick out of those that I see. Very enjoyable. Meant in a good way I assume.

Oh yeh, back to the subject eh? Yes, those numbers appear correct, as they are even the same back in my 1979 US Specialized edition.

About twenty years ago I sold a little booklet with over 100 slogans but my supply ran out a decade ago. When I become king, the first set of stamps issued will feature all of the slogans.

The guy is G. W. Campbell.

GEORGE W. CAMPBELL (1769-1848) Secretary of the Treasury in President Madison's cabinet (1814); US Minister to Russia (1818-21); US senator and congressman from Tennessee.

I also should have noted there is 1 major variety and 1 error to look for in this issue.
On the 1940 Overprint you should look for the "Sensitive Ink" Variety. These look like they are printed with a metallic ink. Used and soaked copies have a slightly blurry look to them.
The error is in the year instead of 19 the date is 18.
