Hello this is my first post and I joined this forum hoping that someone could help me. I have a stamp collection I am looking to sell but at its Scott value not face value. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to where I could find a reputable buyer that is willing to buy at Scott value? Thank you for your time.

Hello Ryan......

Welcome to the club.

......unless you have something incredibly special, virtually no-one will pay full Scott.

Ryan......

To be honest.....all real values are based on condition, centering, gum condition if present......and the personal opinion of the buyer.

There is no set percentage of Scott that is standard. Good material usually sells well, poor material is difficult to give away.

If you post some pictures we might be able to give a more concise evaluation.

Just above the reply box below click on "Reply to topic"........in the response box that pops up click where you want the picture to appear and click your enter key to drop it down a few lines.

....above the box look for the yellow icon.....img /img will appear in a double set of brackets, place your pointer between the sets and click, then hit the green icon below.

a browse box will appear to locate your picture.

if you need to practice a few times don't worry, the mods will clean up any extra posts.

It gets easy once you try it a few times.

Hmm the photos wont upload they are "to large" this is disappointing. I usually send my photos to potential buyers via e-mail I'm not certain how uploading them in a forum works.
However I do have a question pertaining to buyers I have found some but I'm looking to talk to someone who has some experience with buyers do you sell stamps nr-notrare? Thanks
-Ryan

Try a photobucket account. It is free and great way to store photos of any size and can be easy to transfer to the site.

The_Hoff Do You have a photo editing program like Adobe Photo Shop or Paint Shop Pro. With those and some others you can change the size of the scan or Picture.

Man I have a basement half full of stockbooks of stamps..i would take 500 bucks and help the guy clear them out..eventually I will probably take the 73 mile drive to Henry Gitner in Middletown New York..he buys everything..you know what they say if you have not had to look at something or use it in a certain amount of time ..get rid of it !! the truck would use quite a bit of gas but I could put a tarp over the cartons of stamps and away we go !!

Thanks Philb but unfortunately New York is a little far for me I live in Texas. I'm trying to find a good online buyer but so far no luck.

Ah, sorry, Ryan, that's too far west for me to drop in to make suggestions. I travel a lot in Texas, but mostly at the opposite end and Central Texas.
