A little poser for those interested.

I have just been sent a scan of a Machin Horizon [postage] label, MNH in a TB pair. That was what I was told. I have not yet replied because the labels are Self-Adhesive, Kiss Die-cut.
Can a S/A TB pair really be Tete-Beche?

Tete-Beche stamps

A pair of unseperated stamps, one of which is upside down in relation to the other.

But surely Self-adhesives are not joined? So how can this item be truly Tete-Beche?

opinions anyone?

Londonbus1....usually a bit upside down !

Hi LB1,

Is this what you're referring to?

I haven't seen these but I am told they are appearing at prices around GBP 10 or so in online auctions. Plus I understand that these are for real. The Machin Man has made a posting about these.

Yes Larry, that's the one. If you are friendly with your Post Office staff you might be able to pick one up in certain UK outlets !
I sent myself a couple [on cover] from the recent exhibition where the machine kept breaking down !
They are printed by DLR in pairs, Tete-beche but are not really joined...at least in my eyes. But I can change my view if need be.

What do you think ?
And if you ask the Post teller not to put the used stamp on the cover and he gives it to you on the backing paper, is this a CTO ??

Londonbus1....philatelic questions are endless....

Hi All

I noticed that "Machin Man" was mentioned in here.Is he a member? Is this Roy Simpson? If so, I have chatted with him on numerous occasions and he is well versed on the topic of Machins.

Cheers

Ah yes, but Larry, this is about Tete-Beche pairs...the Self-Adhesive kind.

What do you think ?

LB1,

I would just love to ask the clerk at my post office for a handful of Machin tete beeches, but unfortunately, she'd look at me like I was crazy and ask me if I had my head screwed up straight. Unfortunately, I am on the wrong side of the pond. I only wish I could ask a clerk for this stuff. Alas I am at the mercy of endless piles of kilo ware and the well paid help of new issue dealers.

I had seen this tete beche in a blog (http://machinmania.blogspot.com/ )written by Roy Simpson and Larry Rosenblum. Larry Rosenblum is US based (California) and is very very highly thought of in Machin circles. I don't recall running into either online.

My opinion is that they are certainly "tatty ".
AFAIK perforations, whatever style does not enter the equation
it is how they are printed.
If they are adjoined and in a different position they are
tete beche.

Cinderella tete beche

semi tete beche

one can recall the seals of Poonch were tete beche as well
