This is by far my favorite cover. Does anyone know what the "T" in the circle means?

'T' for 'Taxe' - postage due. The Japanese handstamp confirms the letter was taxed 6 sen. (The other handstamp says 'to US', and the manuscript at the bottom is 'Tokyo'.)
