notice the postmarks on these covers..
First and second are listed correctly in Scott's Specialized.
Third one is not listed..

so second one is correct for date of issue.
first is correctly listed as date of issue for Washington DC
third is not listed anywhere.. (i have two covers like this)
Notice the year outside the circle and the football.

The St. Mary's Cancel is really nice and catalogs higher than the D.C. cancels. I don't think it makes any difference between a machine cancel and the duplex cancel. Some folks call that style of duplex cancel a triplex. I have the 2004 Scott FDC catalog (I need a new one, but there's a lot more info than the U.S. Specialized) and it puts the values at $20 for the St. Mary's cancel and $6 for the D.C. cancels Can you make out the names of the cachet makers as that will affect the value quite a bit?
Will

i have the 2008 version of the catalog..
I have 12 of these..
4 with blocks of 4 stamps
8 with single stamps..
4 are duplicates so I will eventually get rid of them.

one of the things I was pointing out, was the date/time difference on the bottom cover.
Scott has the official release dates as shown in the first two. but someone slipped in the Washington one before the official release date. They got it in the night before it was to be officially canceled. To me, that is a rarity, (until I see or read otherwise)

I see what you are getting at. March 23rd is the official date at St. Mary's City and March 24th is the official date at Washington D.C. You have a Washington D.C. dated at March 23rd. Someone snagged the stamp from St. Marys City, went up to D.C. to have it canceled, hence the 23rd date with a duplex cancel. There would be a premium on it, but do not know how rare as I'm sure more than one was created. Check with ebay if there's others floating around. There are some cachets for this issue that catalog for $200-$300 so check those cachet makers.

I collect state related FDCs.
If/when you decide to cull this herd, I'd be interested in obtaining one.

Very nice cover there. I really like that 3rd cachet design.
