HI Guys - And Gals?

Hi everyone,
I am returning, like many, to a childhood hobby. I have just begun to amalgamate 4 albums, 2 passed down from older family members, which cover late 19th and first half of the 20th century, my Mother's childhood album, 1950s/60s, aand my own chilhood album, 1970s/80s.
I have a new ringbinder album and deliciously blank looseleaf pages arriving mailorder anyday now.
I have started at "A", and intend to work my way through to "Z", sorting, researching, removing duplicates, and re-presenting my revamped collection in its new album. Along the way I will no doubt be compiling a wish-list of additions to the collection, but for now I have enough on my hands with the "amalgamation".
Starting at "A", I soon got to Australia. As one of the album owners lived there for many years, I find I have a fairly comprehensive pre-decimal collection. I found over 50 KGvs, still on the paper, plus another 10 or so mounted. Researching these lead me to this forum, and I felt strangely at home, despite my amateur status.
I am guessing that as a woman in her 30s with a toddler and a 6mnth old, I am probably a rarity on this site? I'm sure you'll tell me off for stereotyping! I am feeding the baby whilst typing this one-handed - c'mon, that HAS to be a first for the forum, surely!?
If I start posting too often, call Social Services, my chldren are neglected!

Sounds like a fun project, with lots of potential for good memories.

This place isn't (completely) filled with old guys...you certainly aren't in the majority, but you may not be as rare as you might have expected.

If you have access to a scanner, please share some of your collection.

Stamps are a great past time and great to have and show kids also. Good for learning history and geography and everything.

I used to collect all world but got out of it all and now am back starting out again with a few small areas that have seemed to expand themselves into larger and larger areas of the world and history. It's fun, the more you get to know the more you want to know.

I have just started collecting the Australia KGV (King George 5) side-faces and a fellow from Australia on here (KGV Collector?) has a great thread / topic on explaining them all, depending on how detailed you want to get with them of course.

Lots of nice people on here. Don't be shy asking for help or voicing opinions either. And we all like to see pics of stamps.

Thankyou all so much for your kind welcomes and encouraging words. At first I didn't think I could have anything of interest to you serious collectors out there, but I am encouraged to scan some oddities I have found, and just my favourite stamps, and share them.

Welcome "stampgal", as stated there are others aboard and you certainly are welcome. I also agree that this bunch needs some feminine balance from time to time.
