Hi-

Just want to say I'm glad to be part of the family and ask for your patience as I get used to how things work.

Despite what my profile says, I'm 66, not 13. Somehow, I
got the date entered wrong. But, some will, when you get to know me better, the 13 may fit.

I collect Canadian stamps, and concentrate mainly New Brunswick. That's because I was born in NB and lived there for 60 years before retiring to British Columbia.

I collected stamps as a kid; but, got side-tracked in my early teens only to return to the hobby after moving to the west coast.

My working life was in radio at stations in the three major cities of New Brunswick. After starting as a dj in private stations, I moved into news reporting and on to News Director for almost 20 years before going with CBC Saint John as a reporter, then retiring in 2002.

After that, I worked as a dj again at a small university station for two years before moving to Vancouver Island.

I also dabble in collecting New Brunswick coins and tokens. I try to collect Canadian dollars; but never seem to have enough because I spend them on stamps.

My other hobby is Amateur radio. I have been a ham operator since 1990 and hold the call-sign VE7DXU.

I hope to be an active member of the SCF and look forward to the activities.

Roy Geldart

Welcome Roy

Sounds like you had a very interesting life. Please share some of your collection with us when you get a chance.

XNBer! I am a hop, skip and a ferry ride away from you in Langley.

Do you collect ham radio related covers? I have quite a few from the remote outer islands of Tuvalu in the South Pacific.

That 13 showing up as your age happens to others too. Must be a programming thing.

Thanks BeeSee.
I'm not into radio covers.
I do have a mint pane of the US 3 cent amateur radio stamp and a cover with the same stamp......but, that's about it.

Welcome "X". Great background. And with a sense of humor and a not too stilted look at life or this great hobby you'll fit in just fine.
