Hi,

I like the way some stamps are issued inside a "card" or "sheet"
(i dont know exactly the name), and I want to start searching ebay for this type but I really dont know what key word should I write?

this is an example of what I mean;

this is the stamp:

but this is the "form" I would like to buy it at:

What is the name/term stamp collectors use for this?

Thanks

Amr

Small sheets featuring single stamps, or small groups of stamps are referred to as Souvenir Sheets.

I recall someone mentioning the other day,
"Souvenir sheets" for US, "Mini sheets" for Europe?

Perhaps wise to use both nomenclature Amr.

A superb sheet.
A truly lovely design, one of India's best.
I would call it a Miniature Sheet.
The stamp was also issued in regular sheet form.

When I first tried to get myself a copy of this M/S, I made a few exchanges with collector contacts in India. But every sheet recieved was damaged in some way. I finally managed to get one from an Indian GB collector that was near perfect.
It left me with a few poor sheets though !

Londonbus1...not a sheet, but poor !

I have a spare and a single stamp somewhere, but since your post have been unable to find them.
My stamp mess is getting more worrying by the day.

Guess I'll have to stop buying for a few years.

Londonbus1.....

PS If I find them, I'll let you know. [Spock, help me !]

Ah, almost my favorite topic, searching.

Different parts of the world generally use different terms for this. Some sellers do include more than one of these terms in there titles.

souvenir sheet
souv. sheet
s/sheet
souvenir
souv.
ss
miniature sheet
mini sheet
mini/sheet
mini-sheet
m/sheet
miniature
mini
ms
(eBay's search program/engine ignores formatting characters such as '.' or '/' so do even bother using them when you search (unless you enclose them in parentheses).

Searching for 'm sheet' or 'm/sheet' = the same = ('m' AND 'sheet') will find m/sheet but not much else.

A good type of search to use on ebay and save is
name (sheet,ss,ms,souv*,mini*) . . . replace 'name' with the topic of interest (taj) or country name, (india).

That means, search for Name AND (any of the following, separated by commas) (sheet OR ss OR ms OR anything starting with souv OR anything starting with mini).

If you just search for 'souvenir sheet' that means search for results that contain Souvenir AND Sheet but does not find items just called souvenir (if the seller ran out of room) or s/sheet or souv sheet. Kind of tricky.

Example again (on ebay . com returning results from North America only) while searching for:
souvenir sheet = 13,200 results
souvenir = 21,000
souvenir -coll* = 20,700 (minus the word collection)
souv* -coll* = 23,300

Usually you can search for a word and ebay will find the plural form of that word also. Sheet will also find Sheets. This is mostly true for a lot of commonly used words. But check to be sure.

You may have to use the minus sign to remove some results. Sheet may find 'full sheet' also. As you can see, some searches will not find all the results. You may have to search twice with different terms.
