I got some kiloware recently. Nothing exciting at first glance, but as I began to sort them I realised how much interesting stuff I have learned in few weeks since I joined the forum. Simple beginners stuff, but I've picked out some examples from my "boring" kiloware-

Sometimes, the cancels, precancels or perfins are more interesting than the stamps

Some stamps come from sheets, some from coils

The three penny beaver was the first stamp of Canada

Somebody mentioned something about Indian states..?.

This man's name is Martin, not Juan

Some designers and engravers are famed for their work, some have their names on the stamps they have produced.

South Africa produced some of the smallest stamps around

You should collect what you like. (I like this).

Thankyou everyone!

stampgal,
I've learned a lot too. I've learned that I have a lot to re-learn..lol. What I knew from ages back has changed and what SCF has taught me is invaluable. I love just pouring through the posts and reading what is there. I just took a chance on joining this forum because it was what came up when I did a Google search. I am so glad I did. A great bunch of people and all of them are excellent collectors.

It's always nice to learn and appreciate things more I think.

I collected just generally worldwide years ago but now, after reading SCF and learning about details and aspects of collecting I did not know or realize existed before, I am delving into areas I missed out on before.

It's nice to see other people doing kind of the same thing also.

Thanks for sharing!
