ok I know you have to post like 50 posts to sell, so I am not here to sell but I am asking, other than ebay, where can I sell a bunch of mint and used stamps up until 1975? I have plate# blocks and tons of other stuff incliding B.O.B.. So can I get some hints? Thanks.

Quote: So can I get some hints? I agree with Cinnamon, you should keep posting and join in the fun, and when you get to 50 posts [it will come in no time at all, believe me] you can put them up here. I have sold loads of stuff here, more than most auction sites...and with the added advantage being we are all buddies. So no problems arise. try it. Londonbus1....Sorry, it was Nutmeg ! |

Yup me. Anyway, how does a buyer contact a seller? I mean regarding exchanging addresses and working out methods of payment. It obviously isn't wise to post your home address on the for sale thread. I don't see any tabs for private messages or such. Do buyers and sellers communicate by e-mail or what? Thanks. |

Quote: Do buyers and sellers communicate by e-mail or what? Yes. Agreement to sell/buy is usually made in the thread, so that others will know it has already been sold. However, final payment/shipping details are usually done over email. At least that's how I've done it. |

glad you asked this question! I was digging for all these sites in old posts, as I reformatted and lost all my bookmarks... |

khj, Thanks for the reply. However when I try to e-mail a member [not buying or selling] an message pops up "Not authorized to e-mail". So how does a person get authorized to send e-mail? |

Nutmeg, Get to 50 posts and you should have access to the email. Steve |

Join a stamp club - absolutely the very best place to buy, sell and trade IMHO. If in the US go to APS for club locations. If in Canada go to RPSC or Canadian Stamp News. |

Agree with everything.
The thing that kills me is that everyone says that Stamp Collecting is dying, etc.
I am so overwhelmed by the absolutely awesome number of Stamp websites out there! And it's quality information. I'm into a couple other hobbies and the Stamp Collecting websites absolutely RULE and OWN all the others.
Look at all the sites to buy/sell/trade stamps. Ask a similar question to a coin collector or a Baseball card collector and you'll get a couple shrugs of the shoulder and an under-the-breath mention of "flea-bay" or "fee-bay" or whatever. They're stuck - it's E-bay or fancy auction sites like Heritage or Teletrade.

khj, Thanks for the congrats. As far as ebay goes, I am a serious coin collector. And I used to drag race pretty heavily and always had spare parts for sale. I started selling on ebay years ago. But now the fees are absurd. Pay pal takes 3 percent too. So I don't use ebay any more. |
