After this experience with Boston on top of the Pacific show ,I think the talk and discussions are going to be to centralize this whole community to one place for exhibitions ,shows ,bourses , and stamp auction firms and yes also the A.P.S. .

Meaning time to bring it all together in or around Chicago , St.Louis,Wichita , Kansas City ,Indianapolis .any place easy to drive to and fly into with car rentals. It doesn't have to be under one roof but able to walk around to each business and a A.P.S. room for a monthly stamp bourse to help pay the rent .
Sort of like a Silacon Valley with places close by doing the same business .

Not going to happen. GASS is going to move around. Both collectors and dealers are not going to want to go to the same city every year.

Sorry for the misread.

While we may not get an honest unpolished report, one at least hopes they will pass on lesson learned to the people who will run the next 5 year or 10 year show.

How does that make it easier for everybody? Unless you live in the host city? There are reasons why the move the Olympics around each time. Same for stamp shows.

My intended point is that I am afraid that the report as offered will be in bright polished glowing light. No group will say we really blew it and this is how if such actually was the case.

So are you saying they blew it, then? Or just a vague insinuation that 'maybe' they 'blew it'...?

Not so bad that there was no 2006 US International.

It was 29 years ago and long settled into history. The financials showed they had a deficit but all obligations were covered. There were unhappy folks about how Pacific '97 was run by those in charge and how those in charge were selected. It was a great venue, but the venue related expenses seemed to rise dramatically as the show drew near with no alternative choice.

The primary reason or complaint from the dealers was that one vendor had so many customers and customers spent a lot of time at that vendor and not enough with other vendors at the show as well as the money spent not being distributed well among the smaller dealers.

Google is you friend if you have more inquiries.

As to Pacific '97 I and my parents, collectors as well, had a blast.
