The Stamps Of Indo-China.

On June 22, 1942, France under Vichy government issued an omnibus semi-postal series entitled "Pour la Protection de l'Enfance Indigene" (For the protection of the Indigenous Children). The long series contains twenty four different sets, each for use in different French colony. In total, there are 59 airmail semi postal stamps, most of them engraved. Due to political reasons, the stamps were not sent to the colonies during the WWII and were not placed no sell there. The stamps are not listed in all catalogues but Yvert and Tellier catalogue lists them. Several of them were used after WWII as postage stamps.

Here are the stamps issued for Indochina.

The first two were designed by Le-Thi-Luu and Mai-Thu respectively.


The third is an engraved stamp, designed by Mai-Thu and engraved by Antonin Delzers
