Nice Cancel, Slogan Or Postmark?

Always I´m wondering what is that. A time Slogan, an advertise Postmark or part of a cancel stamp?

Who knows, maybe this stamp has fill the Slogan/Postmark/Cancel.

It is part of a slogan postmark cancel, quite popular during its period of use. It would have been preceded by a circular date stamp with date of use and location. If you can't read it completely, it says "For Benefits on Earth" (NASA = National Aeronautics and Space Administration). I like yours because the lower right corner of the Space Shuttle triangular graphic covers the date on the stamp "1999".

A slogan, OK, I got a olympic slogan on a canada stamp, I would try to find more slogans on my USA/Canada definitive.

I search on google and found this thread in this forum,

they post about slogan on cover, so a complete slogan postmark.

Quite a difficult found a slogan on a definitive stamp, but sure a part of...maybe this work for a very small side way collection.

OK. Another Slogan/Postmark/cancel.

Now a Olympic slogan. I found only few of this postmark in a Canada kiloware.

Maybe someone have a Olympic Postmark collection? For me go to the "Nice Cancel" envelope.

Here's an interesting "slogan cancel" from the UK (and on a Machin!) ... the "slogan" is looking to sell advertising. Never seen that one before, but it is an interesting idea to generate income for the postal authority:

We should advertise SCF on there!

Thought I'd add to this post by showing the following stamp. I suppose the cancel was common for the period, but never saw (or at least never noticed) before the outline of Paul Revere's and his horse with the slogan "Spirit of Paul Revere" and the "Buy Defense Bonds" shield.

Yes, this type of slogan on a machine cancel that was very popular during the late 1950's. Here's an example with the full text:



However, if you're into collecting these things, there are varieties to be had. Note the image I posted shows the second line of text in a slightly different font than the one in your example. It's my guess they were used on different cancelling devices.

Someone on this site has a catalog that can identify the different cancelling machine used for these sort of things.

Thanks. Anyway to tell what type could have been used on the stamp shown by timbres667? It appears to be the same slogan, but the second line font type is different and includes the word "on" whereas the example I showed extends that word to the third line.

The example posted by timbres667 is also a International Postal Supply Co. but without knowning the city I can't find the machine.

Just a quick note to Novato. In your posting of the Canadian Stamp with the partial logo/slogan. The Logo at the top of the stamp is from Canada Post and the wording has a statement (I don't know the exact words) about the Post Office being an Official Sponsor.
